LED and Signal Output Setup

The MOBOTIX camera uses the six LEDs (M10) or four LEDs (D10) on its front to inform you about different actions/states of the system. Open the LED Setup dialog to modify LED behavior or to deactivate them entirely.

Note: Open the General Event Settings dialog to modify the behavior of the LEDs that have been set to Event in this dialog.

Designation of the Camera LEDs

LEDs of the MOBOTIX M10

The camera keys on the camera's front (R, L) are labeled as as seen by the camera, the LEDs are identified by looking at the camera itself (12 to 10 o'clock positions or 0 to 6, where "0" is the LED at the top):

LED Standard Functions:

  • LED 12 o'clock / 0: Power
  • LED 2 o'clock / 1: Image processing/event
  • LED 4 o'clock / 2: Ethernet
  • LED 6 o'clock / 3: Serial (RS232)
  • LED 8 o'clock / 4: VoIP/ISDN
  • LED 10 o'clock / 5: Image processing/event
R = right side of camera
(as seen by the camera)
L = left side of camera
(as seen by the camera)

LEDs of the MOBOTIX D10

The MOBOTIX D10 has four LEDs:

LED Standard Functions:

  • LED 0: Power
  • LED 1: Image processing/event
  • LED 2: Ethernet
  • LED 5: Image processing/event

LED Settings

Parameters Description
LED Main Switch The main switch activates or deactivates all LEDs of the camera.
Note: When deactivated, the LEDs blink only when the camera is starting. Beyond that, the LEDs will not signal anything.
Set all LEDs

You can assign the same function to all LEDs:

Differently Select this option to assign different functions to the the LEDs.
default Resets all LEDs to the factory defaults.
Other Options Sets all LEDs at once to the desired LED signal.

All other options correspond to the functions that you can select for the individual LEDs. For more detailed information, see the LED Signals help topic.

Note: The selected settings may be overruled temporarily by certain applications, e.g. while installing a software update.

LED Signals

You can assign a different signaling function to every LED:

Signal Meaning
Camera The LED shows the activity of the image sensors. Slow blinking indicates long exposure times.
Off

The LED's signal feature is deactivated during regular operation.

Note: This setting will be ignored during camera startup.
On The LED is on without interruption.
Blink The LED blinks slowly.
Flash The LED blinks rapidly.
Event The LED signals events as set by the LEDs parameter in the General Event Settings dialog (you may have to click More to display this parameter).
PIR The LED indicates when an event has been triggered by the passive infrared detector.
Left button The LED goes on when you press the L key on the camera's front.
Right button The LED goes on when you press the R key on the camera's front.
Signal input The LED goes on when the signal input is active.
Signal Output The LED goes on when the signal output is active.
IR remote control The LED indicates when an infrared signal by a remote control has been received.
Ethernet The LED signals activity on the Ethernet interface.
VoIP/ISDN

The LED signals activity on the ISDN interface or a VoIP connection.

LED Signals When in VoIP Mode:

  • SIP configured: VoIP/ISDN LED flashes at 1 Hz.
  • Camera successfully registered with SIP server: VoIP/ISDN LED flashes at 2 Hz.
  • Error: VoIP/ISDN LED blinks (about 250 msec on/off).

If a voice connection has been established via the VoIP (SIP) or ISDN interfaces, the LEDs signal the following:

  • Listen or Speak: VoIP/ISDN LED is lit permanently.
  • Intercom: The lower three LEDs are lit, if the camera's loudspeaker is active ("speaking" as seen by the remote camera operator). If the camera microphone is active, the upper three LEDs are lit ("listening").
Serial Interface The LED signals activity on the serial (RS232) interface.

Note: The option at the top is always the default option that is used when Set all LEDs has been set to Default.

Other Settings

PIR Threshold

Define the trigger level for the passive infrared detector.

Note: Activate the level meter in the Text and Display Settings dialog and select PIR Detector as source. The level meter helps you find the best possible trigger level for your application.

Storing the Configuration

Click on the Set button to activate your settings and to save them until the camera is rebooted.

Click on the Close button to close the dialog. While closing the dialog, the system checks the entire configuration for changes. If changes are detected, you will be asked if you would like to store the entire configuration permanently.
